Prof. Carlos Delgado Kloos and Dr. Carlos Alario-Hoyos from UC3M, organize and coordinate the specialized workshop “Blockchain Technology and Infrastructure for Granting Digital Credentials” under the European project Micro-GEAR (Micro-credentials for Higher Education systems of Georgia and Armenia). The event takes place on December 15, 2025, at the Leganés Campus of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain.
The workshop includes fundamental technical sessions for the development of digital credentials:
- Presentation on legal aspects of reliability, governance, and rights protection in blockchain (by UER – Aniello Merone)
- Practical training on the CIMEA DiploMe CHAIN platform
- Collaborative discussion spaces to define the next phases of the project
This workshop brings together some MICROCASA partners from the European Union—including UC3M (represented by Carlos Delgado and Carlos Alario), CIMEA (Manuela Costone), UER (Aniello Merone), and Giraf PM (Andrey Girenko)—as well as South Caucasus educational institutions and ministries. This collaboration consolidates efforts to implement technological infrastructures that promote microcredentials in the higher education systems of Georgia and Armenia.
